Tasting another Beckmen from our 2020 futures shipment. The wine is named for the founder of the winery, Thomas Lawrence Beckmen, who purchased his first property in Los Olivos in 1994. In the ensuing years, Tom transformed the property into the destination winery that it is today. In honor of his contributions, this wine is named for him. Limited quantity (400 cases), the wine is a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Syrah.

The 2020 is opulent with a heady, jammy aroma of fresh cherries and blackberries. Fresh herbs and dried olive notes abound. On the palate the wine is well-balanced, fruit forward with moderate acidity and supple, well-integrated tannins. Deep, dark fruit is plentiful, with allspice and black pepper notes. Long, fruity finish with rose attar and tobacco on the aftertaste. A real crowd pleaser!
